Lancaster County School Board will hold a proposed Budget Work Session at Lancaster Middle School on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 6:00 PM.

The lab providers have had to cancel tomorrow's testing clinic at Lancaster Middle School. With the weather forecast; they will not be able to travel to Kilmarnock. The next testing date will be Saturday, January 29th

Due to the current weather conditions and below freezing temperatures tonight and tomorrow, Lancaster County Public Schools and school offices will be on a 2 hour delay on Friday, January 21st.

Due to anticipated weather and low temperatures tomorrow afternoon and evening, Lancaster County Public Schools will dismiss students at 12:15 on Thursday, January 20th. LCPS offices will close for the afternoon and all evening activities will be canceled as well.

Every Saturday in January, LCPS and Three Rivers Health District are hosting a FREE Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Events. The events will be held at Lancaster Middle School from 10 am - 1 pm. All members of the community are able to attend with no appointment necessary. Although LCPS is hosting this event, we are not responsible for delivering results. We would like to extend an apology from all parties if your results were delivered in an untimely manner this past week. Results should be sent via an encrypted email from Proofpoint within 48 hours of testing. This email could go to your spam or junk mail folder. If you do not receive an email with your results, call the Three Rivers Health Department.

Due to the anticipated weather in the early morning hours, Lancaster County Public Schools and School offices will be on a 2 hour delay tomorrow, Friday January 7th. We will reevaluate by 8 am.

LCPS schools and LCPS offices will be open tomorrow, Thursday, January 6th on a regular schedule. A letter from Superintendent Russell will be sent home with all students tomorrow. This letter will be available on the LCPS website. Also posted on our website are updated isolation and quarantine guidelines. Please be sure to keep your child home if they are symptomatic and we look forward to seeing students tomorrow!

Lancaster County Public Schools will be closed for all students, including after school activities, tomorrow, Wednesday, January 5th. Tomorrow will be a staff workday, all LCPS staff are to report to their buildings at 9:30 am.

Due to the weather and road conditions throughout the county, all Lancaster County Schools and Lancaster County School offices will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 4th. Please stay safe.

Due to the forecast of deteriorating weather throughout the school day tomorrow, Lancaster County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 3rd.

Starting in January, LCPS School Board meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month.

On Monday, November 15, 2021, Lancaster County Public Schools and Three River's Health Department will host a Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic for 5-11 year olds. The clinic will be held from 4 - 6pm at Dream Fields in the Hayden Building. This clinic is open to the public. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. The Dream Fields Hayden Building is located at 1385 Irvington Rd. Weems, VA 22576.

The Lancaster County School Board voted tonight to approve November 22nd and November 23rd as additional student and staff holidays. These days are in addition to the previously approved holidays of November 24th through November 26th. This decision was made to give our students and staff a much needed break from all the hard work since returning to in-person learning and to align with neighboring divisions. All offices and buildings will be closed for the week.

The November school board meeting will be held this Tuesday, 11/9/2021 at 5:30 PM and will be conducted in-person at Lancaster Middle School. It will be held in the LMS auditorium. This meeting will also allow virtual participation for the public. 30 additional guests are able to attend in-person with adherence to social distancing. This will be on a first come, first serve basis. Social distancing will be enforced and public attendees will be required to wear a face covering and have a health screening. Attention Lancaster Families. Currently, there is a helicopter landing at LHS. This is not related to anything happening at LHS. This is happening at the request of the Sheriff's office.

Lancaster Families: On Monday, Oct 11, 2021. We began offering students with symptoms of COVID-19 the option to take home a BinaxNOW at-home testing kit. These kits were provided to us through the Virginia School Screening for Assurance (ViSSTA) Program offered through a collaboration of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). These tests are of no cost to the school system or its families. We opted into this program to assist families in an easy and affordable way to test their children in order to keep the number of absences to a minimum and still follow all safety protocols for symptomatic students during this pandemic. The tests were sent to us along with the letter linked below extending the expiration date on those tests that had expired by three months.
