Lancaster Wins State! Picture of the boys basketball team at VCU holding trophy

On March 9th, 2023 the VCU Siegel Center was flushed with Red and White as the Lancaster Red Devils took on George Wyth of Wythville. 

The game started out close as the teams were tied at 11 after the first quarter. After some adjustments from Coach Pinn, Lancaster had a 10-point lead at halftime 32-22. By the end of quarter 3, the lead increased to a 12-point lead with a score of 45-33. By the end of the game, Lancaster won the state championship and concluded an undefeated season with a 22-point lead. The final score was 62-40. The boys finished the season 29-0. 

We are so proud of the boys and all of the hard work that they put into this season. They represented Lancaster County with pride. The community welcomed the team and cheerleaders home with an escort from the White Stone, Kilmarnock and Upper Lancaster fire departments, Lancaster County EMS, Lancaster County Sheriff's Department, Kilmarnock Police Department, Upper Lancaster Rescue Squad and the Kilmarnock Rescue Squad.
