Dear LCPS Families,

\r\n

As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic, there are many challenges that we are all facing. Unfortunately, our district also has recently experienced a death which impacts many of us. Mr. David Greek, LHS English teacher, passed away on Sunday, June 28th after a battle with an illness.

Our district is prepared to provide support to students, staff, and family members. If you feel that you or your student is in need of special assistance or is having a great deal of difficulty coping with this loss, please complete this survey requesting a counseling support session: https://forms.gle/1GUP77yx4VGzxme47.  Counseling support sessions will be available by request via phone, virtually, or in-person with all necessary safety precautions taken.  As always, the COPE Crisis Hotline is another resource that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: 1-800-542-2673.

Our thoughts are with each of you during this difficult time. Please feel free to contact Becca Sterrett, LCPS School Psychologist, at rsterrett@lcs.k12.va.us if you have any concerns or questions regarding your child, or the steps being taken by the school to address this loss.

\r\n

Sincerely,

\r\n

Dan Russell, Superintendent
