On February 25, 2026 a group of LHS Seniors had the opportunity to tour the General Assembly, observe the legislative environment firsthand, gain insight into state government operations and its history. These students were also recognized from the floor by Delegate Hillary Pugh Kent, an honor that made them feel valued as young citizens.

Huge congratulations to our LHS Air Force JROTC program!
On February 18, 2026, our unit underwent its official Unit Assessment—and we are thrilled to share that they earned a PERFECT score of 100 and an overall rating of “Exceeds Standards,” the highest rating possible!
Even more impressive, the unit exceeded standards on 10 checklist items with zero discrepancies—a rare achievement.
This outstanding accomplishment reflects the dedication and leadership of Lt. Col. (Ret) Ronald McManus and MSgt. (Ret) Richard Randall, along with our incredible cadets.
Please join us in congratulating them on this AMAZING achievement!

Schools from the Northern Neck on up through North Stafford had students audition to be in one of two honor bands made up of the best musicians in District XV. Congratulations to LHS senior Jonathan Gaines for earning a spot in the Concert Band on tuba! Despite losing four hours of rehearsal time due to weather, the band prepared an incredible concert of very challenging music in less than a day and a half. The concert band was under the direction of the band director of Christopher Newport University.

Attention LHS Senior Families... Please take a look at the information regarding Senior Yearbook ads.

Senior families please take a look at this important message from our LHS College Adviser, Mrs. Milligan.
