Seniors from the Class of 2026 at the Tides Inn booth

On April 30, 2026, some of our students in the Class of 2026 participated in the first-ever Senior Success Summit. This was a dynamic experience designed to help seniors build confidence, make connections, and gain real-world skills as they prepare for life after graduation.

The day kicked off with an engaging keynote from Brandon McCall of Teen Truth, who inspired students to take ownership of their future, develop a strong mindset, and step into leadership.

Students are also hearing directly from local professionals during a Young Professional Panel, gaining insight into career pathways and life after high school. Throughout the day, they’re participating in interactive breakout sessions focused on:

✔️ Building a positive digital presence (plus free professional headshots!)

✔️ Financial literacy and real-world money skills

✔️ Dressing for success with Goodwill

✔️ Connecting with local opportunities at a resource fair

This impactful event is sponsored by Bay Consortium Workforce Development Board, Inc. and Virginia Career Works Bay Consortium Region.

A special thank you to Beth Sharpe, Career Influencer, for ensuring Lancaster County seniors had the opportunity to participate in this empowering experience. Also, thanks to LCPS Staff, Josh Suszek, Guidance and Melissa Martin, Bus Driver for ensuring students arrived safely and were chaperoned during the event.

We are proud of our students for investing in themselves and taking advantage of opportunities that prepare them for success beyond high school!
