On November 5, 2025, Ms. Deana Oseguera and Mr. Nick Montalbano from JDO Pools & Spas visited Lancaster High School to present on summer internship opportunities and career pathways within their company.
Mr. Montalbano discussed his role in pool and spa maintenance, sharing what he finds rewarding about his profession. He emphasized the essential skills required for success in this field and provided students with insights into daily responsibilities, such as water testing for safety and effective clearing techniques.
Ms. Oseguera outlined the design and development process of swimming pools, describing her collaboration with architects to create custom pools that complement residential designs and incorporate natural surroundings to maximize aesthetic and functional value. She also explained the construction process and the skills necessary to excel in the industry.
Students gained an understanding of how engaging with local businesses can foster career growth while supporting our community’s economy. Staying local can provide meaningful employment opportunities while contributing to Lancaster County’s growth.
