Location: 8311 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster, Virginia
Terms: Hourly position, 20-30 hours per week, may vary; May 28th through August 1st (up to 300 hours total)
Salary/rate: $12.75/hour
About us: Lancaster County Administration fulfills the basic government functions for the
residents of Lancaster County. Administration houses the offices of Planning & Land Use,
Building, Economic Development, Housing, Information Technology, Emergency
Services, Solid Waste & Recycling, Treasurer, and Commissioner of the Revenue.
About the role: This role will rove between the various Administration offices for the purposes of fulfilling important needs of the departments. Selected candidates will gain an understanding of the Administration offices and the functions of each office and how they serve County residents.
Responsibilities:
Will work on projects as assigned with guidance from staff.
Indexing physical files with a digital document database
Scanning documents and creating electronic files. Uploading to a cloud-based
storage location.
Organize files in a digital document management system.
Assist staff with day-to-day operations and tasks.
Candidate requirements:
Will have basic office/computer skills such as scanning documents and using
office equipment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Word.
Proficient with Adobe Acrobat for creating .pdf files.
Understands organizing methods for electronic files.
Self-directed once given and trained on a task.
Willing and able to ask for help and to give assistance.
Communicates clearly-both verbally and written.
This role may interact with the public and as such, the candidate should be able
to determine what the public individual may need and direct them to the correct
staff member to address their needs.
Presents themselves appropriately to the public.
