As we prepare to welcome our students back for another exciting school year, we wanted to share a few important reminders to help ensure a safe, organized, and successful start. Thank you for partnering with us to create the best possible learning environment for every child.
Food Guidelines:
To help maintain a safe and healthy school environment, students may not order, have food dropped off, or receive food deliveries from outside restaurants or delivery services (such as McDonald's, Domino's, Dairy Queen, and etc.) during the school day.
If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday at school, we welcome store-bought cupcakes or other commercially prepared treats. To help protect students with food allergies and dietary restrictions, all items must remain in their original packaging and include an ingredient label.
If your child brings breakfast from home or purchases breakfast from an outside vendor before arriving at school, it should be eaten in the cafeteria before the school day begins. Food is not permitted in classrooms unless prior approval has been granted by school administration.
Dismissal Reminders:
To help ensure a safe and smooth dismissal for all students, dismissal changes and early release pickups will not be accommodated after 2:15 p.m. Beginning at that time, our staff prepares students for dismissal by organizing them according to their assigned transportation method. Last-minute changes can create confusion and increase the possibility of errors. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to ensure every child arrives home safely.
Car Rider Dismissal:
If your child will be picked up as a car rider, please display your assigned car tag each day during dismissal. Our staff will use these tags to quickly identify authorized adults and safely release students. Your assistance with this process helps us keep dismissal safe, efficient, and organized. New decals will be provided this school year.
Open House:
We are excited to welcome you to Open House on Thursday, August 6, from 5:00–6:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity for students and families to meet their teachers, visit classrooms, and become familiar with the school before the first day of classes.
The evening will begin with a Title I Information Meeting and Welcome in the auditorium at 5:00 p.m. We encourage all families to arrive on time so you don't miss this important information about our school and the year ahead. The doors will open for the welcome meeting at 4:45. During Open House, the Enjoy Ice Cream Truck will also be on campus from 3:30–6:30 p.m. We hope you'll enjoy a refreshing treat while you're visiting!
If you're out earlier in the day, stop by NNK Sweet Sips, which will be on campus from 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
