Good evening LES families,
Quarter 3 report cards were sent home with all students on Tuesday. Please review your child's grades, comments, and attached MAP reports and return the signed folder to their teacher to acknowledge receipt. The MAP reports will show your child's achievement percentile, growth percentile, and projection (for some grades) for their SOL performance based on their mid-year score. The percentile means that your child did better than that percentage of every other student taking that test. As a reminder, all students are expected to demonstrate a proficient score on the end of year SOL tests or demonstrate significant growth toward a proficient score. Students that do not are considered for summer school, grade level retention, or both. We believe that all students can and will achieve on these tests! You can see our SOL testing schedule as well as other events at our school website linked here.
There are a few upcoming events at LES for your radar:
Our drama club is putting on two performances of "Cinderella and the Substitute Fairy Godmother" this Saturday at 7:00pm and Sunday at 3:00pm in the LES auditorium. Tickets are $4.00 for those 14 and under and $8.00 for anyone over 14. We hope to see you support our drama club!
The LES Talent Show will bring several impressive acts to the stage on Wednesday, March 25th at 6:30pm. Doors will open at 6:00pm. This is a free event.
The optional home projects for our One School One Book program are due next Tuesday the 24th. The celebration for those students that submit one will be Thursday the 26th. Whether your child completes a project or not, we hope you are enjoying Charlotte's Web as much as we are!
Finally, while Spring Break is nearing, continue to stress the importance of school attendance and proper behavior to your child(ren). As always, thank you for your continued support of our schools and your child's education!
Sincerely,
Mr. Keegan Walters
Principal, LES
