Good afternoon LES families,

Thank you to all families that were able to attend our quarter 3 conferences on Thursday evening or have scheduled one with their child's teacher. If you weren't able to attend, I encourage you to schedule a call or visit to discuss their current progress and how you can help keep them on track. Additionally, please check your child's folder daily and ensure they are completing homework and reading regularly. If your child is struggling academically, behaviorally, or socially, remember that we have www.parentguidance.org at no cost to any family at LES. This site has invaluable resources and coaching to help you ensure your child's success.

This week, we celebrate Kindness Week at LES. Flyers went home in student folders last week and are attached to this email for your viewing. Your child has the option to create a kindness poster with the theme "Kindness Starts With Me". Students will be recognized this week for kind acts and LES has a variety of activities to highlight how we can all help each other.

Looking ahead to next month, March is our annual "One School, One Book" event where all students receive a free copy of the same title and are asked to read with a family member, to a loved one, or independently, depending on the child. We will have a kickoff assembly at the end of this month to introduce the book, the activities, and get excited about reading! LES staff are recording themselves reading different chapters so that you can listen along. Starting this week, our Facebook page will have "clues" posted about what book we will be reading. Join in on the fun!

If you haven't already joined the Kids Heart Challenge, it is not too late! By participating in Finn's mission, your family can learn hands-only CPR which could save a life. Students that complete Finn's mission can pie Mr. Pinn, Ms. Webb, or Mrs. Broske on March 2nd!

Finally, a procedural reminder to utilize the back loop road for car riders in both morning and afternoon. Students arriving after 8:15am must be walked into the building and signed in by a guardian. Any changes to afternoon transportation should be sent with a signed parent note, and our office will stop making changes after 2:30 pm. Thank you for your part in this.

Sincerely,

Mr. Keegan Walters

Principal, LES
