Our classrooms are back and full of learning! Here is a snapshot of what students across the division worked on.
At Lancaster Early Childhood Center, students jumped right back into the swing of classroom learning, including:
In Mrs. Clarke’s class students practiced early literacy skills on our online program, Waterford Learning.
In Mrs. Crittenden’s class, students used their sharing skills and imagination to explore play-based learning.
Lucky students in Ms. Wolfe’s class got selected for a Backpack Buddy program. Students will take a book and character home this week to read, complete activities, cuddle with the stuffed animal, and earn a special prize when it is returned on Friday.
At Lancaster Elementary School, it was business as usual:
First graders in Mrs. Somers’ class used STEM bins in the morning to build important soft skills such as collaboration, problem solving, and critical thinking.
Sixth graders in Mrs. Purcell’s class continued their learning about industrialization and growth following the Civil War.
Additionally, the Scholastic Book Fair is at Lancaster Elementary School all week, and each class will have an opportunity to visit. To add to your child’s e-wallet, visit https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/lancasterelementary
Lancaster High School had some fun things going on, including:
Mrs. Anderson’s French classes got to celebrate National Crêpe day by sampling delicious crêpes. Students also tried their hand at flipping crêpes while holding a coin, a tradition believed to bring prosperity in the coming year.
Mrs. Seaver’s Honors Biology class continued to learn about cells including discussion about the cell membrane.
Mrs. Cueva’s Geometry class practiced solving problems about not just right triangles, but SPECIAL right triangles.
We’re proud of the hard work, curiosity, and creativity our students bring to learning each day.
