December 1, 2025

Parents and Guardians of the Class of 2031,

7th grade students are scheduled to take their Standards of Learning (SOL) test in Civics and Economics on Monday, December 15, 2025. This SOL test is a cumulative exam consisting of 50 questions. A minimum score of 400 is considered “pass proficient” and a score of 500 or above is considered “pass advanced”. Students scoring between 375-399 will earn an “expedited retake” and have the ability to retake the test after remediation and practice with their teacher.

Students should study daily for this SOL test, which includes making flash cards, rereading their notes, and explaining key concepts to others. Students should utilize all review materials sent home by their teacher so that they are fully prepared on the day of their test. Please ensure that your child is well-rested and fed on testing day to ensure success.

Please note that if your child has individual testing accommodations, they may test on a date other than December 15th. This date will be communicated to you by your child’s case manager.

Please see the reverse side of this letter for online test preparation opportunities.

Thank you for your continued involvement,

Mr. Keegan Walters

Principal, LES
