Good evening LES families,

It was great to see the school community come together last Friday at the LHS football game from the human tunnel to the choir performing the national anthem. It made me a very proud principal!

This message contains information about upcoming events and ways you can help your child succeed.

First, if your child is struggling to behave in school, complete work, or having a difficult time with social issues, please head over to parentguidance.org. This FREE resource is extremely helpful, containing daily live webinars, links about how to handle topics, and 1:1 live coaching. This resource is completely free – you have nothing to lose by taking advantage of it, and everything to gain.

Quarter 1 interims will be sent home Wednesday, September 10th. In addition to progress reports, MAP testing reports, Spring SOL reports, and conference request forms will be sent home. Conferences will be held on September 18th from 2 – 6pm. Please complete and return your child’s conference request form if you are interested in meeting with his/her teacher(s).

While conferences are going on, we will have a family engagement event with presentations for parents every ½ hour beginning at 2pm with the last one at 5:30pm. Childcare will be provided during this time. Please stop in for helpful information about literacy and supporting your child.

Finally, I am pleased to report that our attendance at LES is much improved from the last two years. Please continue to ensure that your child is on time to school. If you arrive past 8:15, a parent/guardian MUST bring your child into school to sign them in. Students may not sign themselves into school tardy. Thank you for being a part of our improved attendance.

Thank you for your role in your child’s education and Go Red Devils!

Mr. Keegan Walters

Principal, LES
