Upcoming 7th Grade Field Trip

We are very excited to announce that on Thursday, November 2nd, the 7th graders will have the opportunity to go to the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News. We will be touring the museum and participating in a hands-on Science Laboratory Activity! You must arrive at LMS no later than 7:15 A.M. We will be leaving promptly at 7:30 A.M. from the middle school and returning at 3:45 P.M. This field trip is fully funded by The Lancaster Education Association and your child will be able to attend at no cost! All we need from you is a permission form returned NO LATER THAN FRIDAY October 20, 2017.

YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RIDE THE BUS TO AND FROM SCHOOL. We will leave at 7:30 A.M. and arrive back at the school at 3:45 P.M. You will need to arrange a ride in the morning and afternoon or risk missing the trip.

We will need chaperones for this trip. There are only 8 chaperones spots available. Spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Please indicate on the permission slip if you are interested in being a chaperone. This does not guarantee you a spot as a chaperone. The 8 chaperone spots are also free of charge.

You are still more than welcome to accompany us on the trip even if you are not a chaperone. The admission cost for any additional chaperones, should you choose to attend, will be $18.00. Also, due to the limited space that we have available on the buses, you will have to drive to the museum separately. You will be more than welcome to follow the buses.

We will be eating lunch at the museum and as such a packed lunch from home is needed. If you are unable to send in a packed lunch please let us know as the school is able to provide lunches. There is a gift shop at the museum as well as a café; students are allowed to bring money to shop or get a small snack. All money is the student’s responsibility.

Please contact Beverly Donovan with any questions at (804) 462-5100 or email her at bdonovan@lcs.k12.va.us. If you need an additional copy of the permission slip, you may click on the link below.
